The students have been working on their newspaper Articles this week. They have learned the 5 W's of writing (What? Where? When? Why? Who? and How?) and are now putting together their articles. Once they have finished their rough draft, they will be typing them on the computer in Computers class.

We started a new chapter book this week called Anne of Green Gables. This classic book is written by Lucy Maude Montgomery, a well known Canadian author. The story takes place way back in history and portrays pioneer life very well. The children are enjoying the personable and dramatic character of Anne Shirley.

A reminder that students should be completing their homework and reading for AT LEAST 20 minutes a night. Please follow up with your child to be sure they are reading. In order for them to be successful in their reading they must practice, practice, practice!
