It's almost November!

This coming month brings a lot of learning and fun! We are continuing to learn our reading strategies that you know already including Lips the Fish, Stretchy Snake, Chunky Monkey, Eagle Eye and Trying Lion! Please continue to help your child at home to read by using these strategies! We are using our dictionaries and creating free writing pieces. In November we will look more at punctuation and what a capital, period, exclamation mark and question mark are. In Math we are learning about Number Relationships and the children are starting to work on simple word problems. On Wednesday, November 5th, our class will be part of a field trip to go to the Festival Theatre Arts to see Fred Penner perform. It will be a fun trip and the children will enjoy the time with music and song. In Social Studies, we are learning about Rules and Responsibilities. The children have been talking about how the rules are different at home, at school and in the community. In Science, we have been learning about our 5 senses and how important the major organs in our body are for humans. A reminder that children should be reading each night and if parents could kindly sign the reading record agenda daily, that would be greatly appreciated!
