December is here!

Happy December! This chilly season we will be heating things up in our classroom with great learning! This month in Language we will now be learning the writing form of Poetry! The children created art pieces of a nature scene and now will be creating their poems from the inspired creations. The children also have completed their letters to the other grade 1 class and we are eagerly waiting for a response from them! The students had a great time writing their letters to their friends. In Math, we are finishing off our Measurement unit and will be doing some math review with mental math strategies in addition and subtraction for this month. In Science, the students continue to learn about Living Things and we are discussing what type of impact humans have on other living things. There are always great discussions in our class! In Social Studies, we are finishing off our unit in Roles and Responsibilities and children have learned about consequences and why rules are helpful at school, at home and in our community. Our Winter party will be held on the last day of school which will be a fun day of celebrating the upcoming holiday break! Please remember to bring in treats that are nut free!
