How to spell, how to read..:)

In Language, we have been using a variety of reading/ spelling strategies. These include: sounding out letters (Lips the Fish-making our lips say the letter sounds aloud), stretch out the words to find each letter in them (Stretchy Snake-pulling a part the words like an elastic band with our fingers as we say the word), and finding small words that we know in bigger words (Chunky Monkey-finding small chunk words such as the word 'an' in man). These have really helped the children with working out how to decode words and spelling simple words for themselves.
