We've been reading a chapter book called 'Sophie and the Sidewalk Man' in class which teaches the students about the reality of homelessness. The story is a great one and an inspiring one! A young girl who is saving up her money to buy a toy, decides to give some of it away to a homeless man who she passes by every day. After being inspired by this young girl, our class decided to reach out to make a difference in our community too. Children are welcome to bring in new or gently used mittens, hats, gloves, or scarves that will be donated to a local shelter for adults and children. So far our box of warm things is half full and it's only been a few days since we started! Thanks to all you parents for your support!
