We've been having fun in class reading a variety of Fairy Tales and Fractured Fairy Tales. Our Fairy Tale writing unit will focus primarily on the story of Cinderella. We will be reading and comparing this story in different cultures. The children will then be writing a compare/contrast paragraph on these cultural Cinderellas. The students will then begin to write their own fractured fairy tales.
I've added short Fairy Tale clips on my blog here that the children may enjoy watching to give them ideas of characters, settings or plots they might like to use in their own stories.
