November is around the corner!
In November we continue to review our Reading Strategies: Lips the Fish, Chunky Money, Stretchy Snake, Skippy Frog and Eagle Eye. The children have been using these strategies to help sound out words and learn new vocabulary. Our class also continues to learn the Word Families to help us identify word patterns to help spell and read new words. It is so important that children are reading each night to a parent or a guardian and having their Reading Records signed. This teaches your child responsibility but also it encourages them to read, read, read! In Language, we are writing our final copies of our Letters that we will send out to the teacher your child has chosen to write to. We will then begin learning about the writing format of Procedural Writing later on this month. In Math we are learning about Patterning in Math and then in a few weeks we will begin our Time, Temperature and Money unit. This month of October our Character Education school focus was Responsibility and congratulations to Ebube and Alyssa for receiving this award! A reminder to parents that children need to have indoor shoes and it is a good idea to have extra clothing in their lockers just in case of spills or accidents. Also, healthy snacks are encouraged please as students need their energy to do their best learning!
