Happy April!

Happy Spring! It's amazing how fast the time has been going in Grade one! We still have so much to do and learn! This month will be a busy and fun one learning! In Language, the children have been learning what nouns, verbs and adjectives are. We have been working on putting more detail into our writing and also continue to work on our editing skills. The children will be introduced to poetry this month in preparation for poetry month in April. The children are also learning about point of view and will create stories using a voice of a character that they choose. In Math, the children are learning about Number Patterns and will then continue on with Linear Measurement. We've been learning about Energy and Seasonal Changes in Science. This month the children will be creating a science project based on what they have learned about energy. Please have your child bring in any recyclable containers, bottles or boxes that can be used, thank you!
