June already??

Is this really the last month of school? It is hard to believe how fast the year has gone! I still remember the first day of school with my Grade One's and how small and uncertain they were. It is amazing how much they have grown in stature, confidence and ability! This last month in Language we will be finishing off our writing pieces which include persuasive writing and point of view. In Math we are completing our Linear Measurement Unit and will be working on Mass and Capacity. This month we also look forward to having some community helpers come in to visit us for our Social Studies unit. The children have been working really hard for our song for the school play which is happening on June 11th. We hope to see you all there! As I reflect on this past year, it has been filled with much fun and learning with your children. I feel blessed to have had the opportunity to know them and learn alongside them. Your children have worked so hard on their reading and it is so important that they continue reading throughout the summer in order to be ready for Grade Two. Thank you to all you parents who have shown me much support and encouragement throughout the year. I will miss all the students but look forward to seeing them continue to excel in Grade Two. Have a wonderful and safe summer holiday and we will see you all back here at Valleyfield in September!

  1. It seems like the year has flown by! I see such a difference in Giovanna's work. She has really progressed a lot and I cant believe sometimes how well she is doing with her reading, math, and all of the things she comes home saying that she has learned in school. Thank you for all your hard work Miss Malenkovich! She really enjoyed this school year and having you as a teacher.
