Last week, we had Melissa from the Dairy Farmers of Ontario come talk to us about dairy farming. She shared facts on the different types of cattle, how milk comes from a cow and also how it is pasteurized. Melissa explained the process of dairy products coming from the dairy farm to the supermarkets where we can buy them. It was a very educational presentation for the students who enjoyed learning about dairy farming in the rural community. Melissa will be milking cows at the Royal Winter Fair on Friday and we hope to see her in action on our field trip there!
